Era Ductile
Ductile iron (also known as semi-steel) is a far superior metal than
gray cast iron. Ductile iron has a 65,000 pound tensile strength, a 45,000 pound
yield and has 12% elongation. Gray iron, on the other hand, has a 40,000 pound
tensile strength, with a 25-30,000 pound yield, with NO elongation! Ductile can
be welded on with mild steel rods just like mild steel. We hand-finish these
barrels to a perfectly smooth finish; no grind marks, parting lines, or liner
ring on front. They come to you primed and ready for final paint. We think for
the small additional cost, these barrels are state-of-the-art!
All these models also incorporate our new SURE-LOK liner centering method.
Forget those stories you've read about liners floating out of center during
casting-it isn't possible with our SURE-LOK system, and we guarantee it!
